The
arrangement is a co-operation between Gothenburg Parachuting Club, the Swedish
Air Force and the Special Forces Corps. As the name implies, we use the Hercules,
i.e. Lockheed C-130, to jump from, normally operated by the Swedish Air Force.
Hovby
airport outside the city of Lidköping, is the dropzone, the same spot as previous
boogies. At Hovby there are large areas for landing and excellent camping areas
etc. The city of Lidköping is situated 110 km northeast of Göteborg.
There
are plenty of activities for non-skydivers in and around Lidköping. The countryside
around Lidköping is one of the oldest parts of Sweden and has a very interesting
mixture of historic scenes dating all the way back to days then the Vikings explored
the world. It is also pretty close to amusement parks and lakes with nice beaches.
Information about this will be available at the dropzone, and if you are interested
in this information before you get here, just e-mail us and we'll fix that.
