Some words by The president

Nina Wass - President

The Hercules Boogie started 20 years ago and will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2002. That raises high expectations on us, and we will meet the challenge! We will do our utmost to make sure that you won´t be disappointed.

The Hercules committee consists of 10 people who are working with this during our spare time. It is a non-profit making association. That means that it is also very important for me to make sure that the committee has a good time planning and time for preparing the boogie.

I, Nina Wass, started to jump in 1979, those were the days when the parties were better than the skydives.

Ever since I´ve been in and out of the sport a couple of times and last year I started to skydive more frequently. The sport has really developed during the last years. It is so much more fun to skydive these days. When skydiving I'm not into anything special. I like to do everything, four-way, free-fly, free-style, precision etc, everything that's new is exciting.

This is the first year for me as a president but I've been working with the boogie 1987, 1989, 1997 and 2000. The last two years with safety issues. This is an exciting challenge for me. With a lot of new members in the committee, filled with creative energy, and a few old members left with a lot of experience, I think we will be able to make this the best boogie ever.

Our main goal for 2002's boogie is to increase the jump capacity so you will be able to make more jumps, this with the same safety level or even better than 2000. We are working on having one jumprun with two landing-areas instead of two jumpruns with one landing-area. This will increase capacity with approximately 50%. Both the paratroopers and the airforce that we are cooperating with are positive to the idea.

The committee also thinks it is important to increase the party level. Last year it was way to quiet on the field after the skydiving were finished for the day. We want you to have a great time also when not skydiving. When you are sitting in your cosy sofa with the wind whistling around the house next winter, not only do I want you to remember some nice skydives, I also want you to have a lot of nice party memories that put a smile on your face as you remember them.

I am looking forward to seeing you at Hovby in August 2002.

Nina
