We would like to welcome you to the ninth edition of the Hercules Boogie!

The Hercules Boogie is a big formation boogie, where skydivers from all around the globe join up to skydive and party in Sweden.

The boogie was organized for the first time in 1982, and has been back about every second year ever since. Our goal is to provide cheap, safe, high quality jumping combined with serious partying. Our concept seems to go down well - the boogie has continuasly developed into being the second largest skydiving event in Europe!

The arrangement is a cooperation between Gothenburg Parachuting Club, the Swedish Air Force and the Special Forces Corps. As the name implies, we use the Hercules, i.e. Lockheed C-130, to jump from, normally operated by the Swedish Air Force.

1997 our goal was to increase the quality of jumping and maintain a high security level, while keeping the special atmosphere for which the Hercules Boogie is renowned. When it comes to safety, we have reached our goal. That is the result of a continuous work on the safety issue and experienced and careful skydivers. We feel that we were successful in most cases, for example 750 participants, 9500 skydives were made, and nobody got hurt. Still, we're going to work hard to make the 2000 boogie even better! When organizing The Hercules Boogie 2000, we have had the aim to increase our flight capacity, increase the number of organizers and to improve the quality of food and accommodation. We have already managed to increase the flight capacity by putting TWO Lockheed C-130s at your disposal during the last two days of the boogie! Now we're working to achieve our other goals. Rest assured that we will succeed.

We hope that you will join us in creating the best Hercules Boogie ever! See you in Sweden in 2000.

Blue skies,
Hercules Boogie
